Spices not only add a lot of flavor to food without adding fat or calories — they can also promote better health! So why not work some good-for-you seasonings into your menu today? You can cut your cancer risk with oregano, thyme, rosemary, fennel, turmeric, caraway, anise, coriander, cumin, and tarragon. Boost your immunity with paprika, saffron, nutmeg, garlic, or cloves. Or help your body keep blood sugar in balance with cinnamon.

Need some ideas to get cooking? It's easy to work spices in if you think creatively! For example, you can put cinnamon in smoothies, on fresh fruit, in your cup of tea, and on yogurt! Add some turmeric, coriander, saffron, and cumin to meats for an East Indian flair. Spice up pasta sauces with extra garlic, oregano, or thyme.

Today, think about your spice rack when preparing your meals morning, noon, and night! Toss some seasonings in and kick life up a notch. Now that's a delicious way to live well!
