Your favorite (or NOT) frozen meals here

I recently read a post about Amy's frozen burrito's. I love the idea of having a quick fix for those "I'm running around like a mad woman & don't have the time to stop & make anything even remotely healthy" kinda day. Snacks are easy to have for emergencies but my hometown, or surrounding towns, don't carry healthy SBD friendly frozen meals. I was thinking of compiling a list of healthy frozen meals so I can do a trip to another supermarket far away from where I live & purchase some of them to have on hand. I don't eat that sort of thing often (obviously since they're not in my area) so anything that I buy would last forever but nonetheless be available if needed.

So . . . whats your favorite legal SBD frozen food?

My favorite is Lean Cuisine Chicken in Peanut Sauce. Love it, love it, love it! I have to consciously avoid eating it more than once a week. There are other whole grain Lean Cuisine entrees, but this is the one I pretty much always buy.

I really don't think the SBD frozen dinners are as good, except for the one with Chicken and Penne in Roasted Red Pepper Sauce. They aren't usually on sale, so I opt for Lean Cuisine.

I'm a big fan of the Kashi frozen meals. They seem to me to be the healthiest of the frozen meals out there (even better than the SBD/Kraft ones in my opinion) I've had most of them and like all the ones I have had. You can check them out here:

(click on the Kashi Entrees link)

I also like some the Lean Cuisine "Spa" ones (those are the whole grain ones) The chicken/peanut sauce one is my favorite too. They also have a few others that I like - grilled chicken primavera and the ginger chicken stir-fry.

Here's the whole Spa Cuisine line:

They aren't necessarily all perfectly legal, but they meet my personal requirements (whole grain, low fat, low sugar)

I like the Kashi ones too. They're the only ones I've found with whole grains and without high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils. And the chicken is always nice quality white meat. It better be though, if you're spending close to $4.00 on it :)

We have tried most of the SB frozen dinners and several of the spa cuisines. We like almost all of them. I do have one (or NOT) that I tried today. The spa cuisine Salmon with basil. I'm not big fan of fishy tasting fish and the basil sauce just didn't do enough to cover the fishy taste for me. I won't buy that one again.

On the other hand, I did have the butternut squash spa cuisine sometime last week and I really liked that one. As always, it's best if you add more veggies alongside. But if you are like me, if you are going to eat a frozen dinner, it's because you haven't had time to make something else. So suggesting that you have more veggies with it just isn't going to happen.

I try not to eat these more than once a week. DH eats them along with extra veggies probably 3 or 4 times a week, tho. And he hasn't complained about any of them yet!
