Good use for ground beef/sirloin

I sometimes need a quick grill meal and something my kids will eat. But I usually only buy ground beef or sirloin when it's on sale in the big value pack. So we only eat at most half in a meal. So the rest I freeze. But now I have burger meat in the freezer and I don't want to make burgers. I used to make tacos, don't make those anymore. Taco salad, well, I'm looking for something more exciting then salad. ;)

Any good recipes?

Thanks!
Tara

Here are some ideas (you can use the search feature to find the recipes on the board):

Chili
Hamburger Soup
Turkey Trash (using ground beef)
Crockpot Lasagna
Taco Junk (using ground beef)

You can also search for ground beef, turkey or chicken and I'm sure you'll find loads of results.

A few more come to mind:

Pizza Meat Pie
Taco Meatballs

Have you tried the crockpot cheeseburgers?

To deal with uncertain or slightly high fat content in ground meat (including ground turkey and pork), I follow a trick from my grandmother. Brown the meat, with a some salt, over medium heat, instead of the usual medium high. Higher heat will sear the fat in; at medium it will render and become liquidy. It won't become as brown at this stage as you may like, but that can happen later. At fist, just get out all the pink. Then drain in a mesh sieve or colander with lits of small holes. Press out as much of the liquid as you can, then return the meat to the pan. It will brown quickly at this stage, without the liquid. I do this a lot, to add to tomato sauce or make chili for easy toi freeze meals.

Only extra lean (96/4), lean (92/8), sirloin (90/10) are acceptable on South Beach.

I haven't tried that crockpot recipe, no and I love my crockpot!

I usually buy no less than 97% ff. I could never stand the really fatty hamburger anyways even before SB.

I will try searching for the recipe on here. I just like to get personal recommendations. :)
