I made a random pot of soup this a.m. in my crockpot, just had a small bowl at lunch and it is pretty bad. Here's what I put in it -- anybody got ideas on how to fix it? It's too tangy/sweet and not savory.

1 can fire-roasted tomatoes
1 can kale, drained
1 can pinto beans, drained
1 can beef broth
1 can vegetable broth
some whole wheat macaroni
sprinkle of Italian seasoning

I was thinking maybe I'd brown some ground beef with onions & garlic and that might help...

Is it because the kale is overpowering?

What about throwing in a beef bouillion or two?

Thanks for the suggestions, you two. I sauteed onions & garlic, then diced up some leftover fajita stuff (flank steak, red, yellow & green peppers, and more onions) and stirred that in, then threw it all back in the soup. I had a spoonful and it tastes much better. I may add some boullion to it tomorrow to give it some more liquid. It's sort of a growing soup... ;-)
