Question about Smart Balance

I recently started using smart balance after realizing my I can't believe it's not butter may have been part of my stall, BUT origially I purchased a tub of the smart balance lite spread and I really liked it, easy to spread and tasted good. Well the last time at the store they only had the regular smart balance so I figured it was stiff SB friendly so I bought it, BUT it's hard as a rock! It was very hard to spread on toast and almost seemed like "real butter" out of the fridge on how hard it was. Is this normal? has anyone else noticed that?

Silly question, I should just go buy more lite I guess!

Yeah, I've always had that problem. I still buy the regular because I like the flavor a lot more than the lite. I only ever use it for toast, so it hasn't been that big of a deal. I'm not sure why it's so much harder though. I wonder if you could store it on your counter to keep it softer, like regular butter?

You're right, the stuff is hard and doesn't melt like real butter.
