Hi everyone,

Would love to find a recipe for some types of things to add to make a chex mix type of snack and the spices etc to go on them...

I don't miss sweets...I don't need SB desserts... but i do miss crunchy/salty.....so any ideas would be most appreciated...(I do toast ww tortillas, but I want more of a mix)

thanks!

I don't have any idea for a mix, but have you tried the Kellogg's All Bran crackers?

I don't care if the Gerber Puffs are legal or not. I tried them when my kids were little. Blech! I wouldn't eat them. They dissolve in your mouth. There is no crunch. Just gross.

Have you tried the Healthy Pop Kettle Korn?? Its by Orville Redenbacher and its made w/Splenda. They sell it in mini-100 calorie bags now too.

Another thing we do is "candied" nuts.

Candied Pecans

1 lb shelled pecan halves
2 T legal butter sub
1 egg white, beaten to slightly frothy
2 T water
3/4 C sugar
3/4 t cinnamon
3/4 t salt
dash nutmeg

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter on cookie sheet in oven.
Mix all ingredients except for the pecans and salt well. Add pecans and cover
with mixture thoroughly. Spread evenly on the cookie sheet once the
butter is melted. Cook for 30 min, turning every 10 min. Salt immediately after coming out of the oven, spread to cool.
