I re-made the recipe for Pizza Meat Pie with Mexican flavors:
TACO MEAT PIE (Phase 2)
1 pound extra lean ground beef
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk (I used about 1 tablespoon of skim milk to moisten)
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tablespoon taco seasoning
1 cup shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese
1/2 cup water
1 cup salsa (I used homemade salsa)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine beef, milk, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, taco seasoning and garlic. Mix well. Pat the mixture into a 9" pie plate.
Spoon salsa over the meat mixture in the pan, top with the cheese.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink
Makes 4 (very large) servings.
