INGREDIENTS
· 4 bone-in pork loin chops (1 inch thick) (I used boneless)
1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
· 1 garlic clove, minced
· 1/4 cup soy sauce (I used the lite)
· 1/4 cup red wine or chicken broth
· 2 tablespoons brown sugar (I used the sub. but less than 1/2 tsp.)
· 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
· 1 tablespoon cornstarch
· 1 tablespoon cold water
· Hot cooked rice
DIRECTIONS
In a skillet, brown pork chops on both sides in oil; transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Add garlic to drippings; cook and stir for about 2 minute or until golden. Stir in soy sauce, wine or broth, brown sugar and red pepper flakes; cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour over chops. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until meat is tender. Remove chops. Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; gradually stir into slow cooker. Return chops to slow cooker. Cover and cook for at least 30 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve over rice. Yield: 4 servings
***I don't like the bone in chops so I always use boneless. I know that the brown sugar sub. isn't exactly legal so I used the smallest amount...I was afraid to omit completely. I'm not too sure if that much soy sauce is okay.
I really hope this is legal. It was SO good....even David and the kids loved it. I served it over brown rice but the sauce would be good as a stir fry sauce.

Steph,
This recipe is fine. I usually substitute splenda when a recipe calls for brown sugar (and I usually use about half the quantity stated in the recipe).
I hope this is ok for P2.
