How do you prepare Steel Cut Oats!

I bought the steel cut oats but have no idea how to fix these. Do I soak them overnight or what...I've seen several recipes where they do that.

I am NOT an oatmeal fan anyway, but everyone says that the steel cut oats taste better, rather nutty.  After I opened the can I was surprised to find they look rather strange...more like ground up nuts!  BUT..I am going to give them a try.

So, if anyone has any suggestions on how to cook them or serve them..I'm open to try them!

Thanks,

Char

Steel cut oats are SO much tastier than the other stuff. The ratio is one part oats to four parts water. This makes a lot, but I find that it keeps very well in the fridge. Also, it takes a long, long time to cook so it's more expedient to have some premade in the morning. I don't add salt, but I enjoy tossing in fresh berries and some milk.

I agree with Susan; these are so much better than regular oatmeal.

I put about 1/2 teaspoon of Splenda Brown Sugar in it for the brown sugar taste and some regular Splenda because I like my oatmeal sweet.

Char,

Are you aware that the Splenda Brown Sugar Blend isn't legal.
