How do you prepare Steel Cut Oats!

I bought the steel cut oats but have no idea how to fix these. Do I soak them overnight or what...I've seen several recipes where they do that.

I am NOT an oatmeal fan anyway, but everyone says that the steel cut oats taste better, rather nutty.  After I opened the can I was surprised to find they look rather strange...more like ground up nuts!  BUT..I am going to give them a try.

So, if anyone has any suggestions on how to cook them or serve them..I'm open to try them!

Thanks,

Char

Now that we're talking about how to jazz up your oats, I couldn't resist posting this old thread filled with ideas:

I was pretty sure the Splenda brown sugar was not legal, so I only used a really small bit...but now that I have the tip about the sugar free maple syrup as a flavoring, I will do that. Thanks a lot!

And on the Splenda subject, I am assuming that the Splenda for baking is also a no no..since it is half Splenda and half regular sugar, right?

You're right that the Splenda baking blend is not legal.
