Beef and pork back ribs are very high in fat (ribs are not SBD-friendly).  The sauce, homemade or not, tends to be loaded with sugars.  Here’s a great low-fat, low-sugar version:

Barbecue “Ribs”

2 pounds Sirloin Boneless Steak
Wicker’s Hickory Flavor Marinade and Baste (5 calories, 0g sugar per 2 T.)
Wicker’s Thicker BBQ sauce (25 calories, 3g sugar per 2 T.)
Skewer sticks

Trim visible fat from steak (if any) and slice length wise into 1/2” strips. Place in glass bowl and cover with marinade sauce, coating all strips. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours, or overnight. Remove and discard marinade.

On the grill:  Thread meat loosely on skewers. Grill over medium hot coals, turning often for 7 to 10 minutes or until desired doneness is achieved.  Remove from skewers and serve with Wicker’s Thicker BBQ sauce.

In the oven:  Bake at 400 degrees for about 25-30 minutes, turning once.  If more browning is needed, place under broiler for a minute or two when nearly done.  Toward the end of cooking, if you like your ”ribs” saucy, rather than dry, you can brush them with Wicker's Thicker BBQ sauce.

Makes 6 servings

I found the Wicker's Hickory Marinade & Baste and the Wicker's Thicker BBQ Sauce at Kroger.

Barbecue sauces usually contain added sugars. During the weight loss phases of the SBD foods which contain “added sugar”
