I am going to make Healthy Banana Cookies (http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbsouthbeach/?msg=29997.1) and would like to add milled flax. Would it replace something or should I just add it - and how much?

If you read through the entire thread there are recommendations on amounts and substitutions for ground flax.
