Blips of Pain in my chest
Mon, 01-31-2005 - 1:19am

I am new here and just thought I would see if anyone out there might know what I have. I get these "blips" of pain in my chest. They happen every 10-20 minutes and can last for days sometimes weeks. I have been to a dr. about this - they did a EKG and a chest x-ray where everything was normal. These pains do not slow me down or increase/change with exercise, they are just annoying and worrysome. I am not short of breath at all. The Dr told me that because of this these pains are probably not my heart. They occur just below or under my breast bone. I had my gall bladder removed several years ago so I know that it is not that.

I would love to hear your ideas.
My dr. told me to see a psychologist.
I do have a lot of stress in my life, I work full time and have two young kids.

Have you been checked for GERD (acid reflux)? I get the same kinds of pain and after having my heart checked out, the Dr said I have GERD. My reflux presents with the little bits of pain rather than the burn.
