Me again - 2nd opinions ?? Nothing wrong

Hi,

I posted earlier, but have since had an Echo-Doppler test done. It came back "normal". My Holter Monitoring showed some "premature heartbeats" but nothing abnormal otherwise. My doctor is not concerned.

But I am not imagining my heart palpitations, which occur daily.

Do I just accept that it's something I have to live with? Or do I seek other opinions?

Thanks so much for your advice,
Julie

I would get a second opinion, and a third if need be. With your mother having a cardiac history, this is something the doctors should be taking seriously. You may have to find another doctor, one who is maybe a little more familiar with women's cardiac care.

Good luck & keep us updated.

Hi Barb & thanks so much for taking the time to write.

I did go see my doctor again today, and he sat & talked with me for a while. I think I feel a lot better. He explained that I have "Premature Beats" that are not dangerous, but since they occur daily & bother me so much, he suggested a low dose beta blocker.

I think I will go ahead & try this medication, and see how I feel. He said he wants to see me again soon to monitor me.

So - I may go ahead & seek another opinion, just be be safe. But I guess I feel a little less worried & anxious now.

I'm glad that you are feeling better about your situtation, & I'm especially glad that your doctor seems to be taking you a bit more seriously!

Hope everything goes well!
