Hello, Rhonda! Tell me what tests you had that determined the PVCs. And are you taking any medication to help prevent them?
PVCs are often quite "normal." However, should the PVCs happen quite often, it could be an indication of a much deeper problem. PVCs are potential markers of increased risk of underlying heart disease. The weakness and shortness of breath you mentioned is something you want
Thanks Geri. I've had stress tests, the sono of my cartoid artery, ekgs and echocardiograms. I also had an EP study done and my doctor says they are benign. It's funny, I'm more concerned about the PVCs because they make me so uncomfortable but my doctors are very worried about my blood pressure (so far, none of the meds are making it go down). Today when checking my BP, I noticed that my pulse rate goes from 80s to 60s with the extra beats.
Since the pressure is so high (averaging 160+/110+ even with all the meds they're piling on me now), I'm probably going to call the doctor tomorrow.
Welcome to Heart Health!! You gave some very good advice! And I do agree with you - somewhat. 8^) I think it wise to do what you suggested as far as reducing stress. It truly can make a difference in the way our heart behaves and the way in which we feel.

Thanks Geri - I think I'm just going to have to adjust to the PVCs and hopefully I will eventually get to where I can ignore them.
