Yes indeed-Heart Disease. It runs rampant on my father's side of the family and so far 4 of my siblings have heart problems. I'm doing all I can do to prevent so let's hope I take after Mom more. ;)
Yes, my Dad died of heart disease, so that concerns me some. And my Mom has osteoporosis, but otherwise I think I got great genes from her side of the family. All her brothers and sisters have lived to be at least 90 and she is 100.
I generally try to keep up a healthy diet and lifestyle and not worry too much. I am nore worried about my DH and the diabetes and heart disease in his family.
A big yes with cancer. My mother is a breast cancer survivor. Three of my first cousins died of cancer. One died of leukemia, the other two (sister) of brain cancer. Several of my mother's first cousins are cancer survivors, and sadly many others have died from it.
Cancer is rampant on my maternal grandfather's side of the family. On maternal grandmother's side of the family there are cases of cancer, but not like on my maternal grandfather's side. On my father's side, they are pretty much healthy and they have the long-life gene, too!

However I know taking care of myself & my family will help hopefully prevent them :)
Heart problems and brain aneurysms (sp?) on Dad's side; osteoporosis and diabetes on Mom's.
