With all our various heart issues, I was wondering what we all use to help us be less stressful, to help us take better care of our hearts, etc.? Maybe we can give each other ideas by sharing what we each do? :) I'm always interested in hearing of ways to be calmer and more peaceful, and help me handle stress better, with less harmful effects on my heart and body. :P

Hey, Gypsy! I can best de-stress by listening to my favorite music. Another method that helps calm me

Getting a massage works best for me though I can't afford it as often as I would like.

I don't believe we've met, yet, Linenpress. Welcome aboard! I've always wanted to get a massage, but never have. Maybe one day.... :) I do hope we'll see you often here at Heart Health!

Besides my daily long walks with my Mika dog, this t'ai shi form I've done for over a decade, sporadically, helps also:

I started doing this form at my bedside while still in the hospital after my heart surgery last March. I did it every day when I got home, also, before I could really go for walks again. ;)

I also slow my breathing and visualize strength flowing into me from the earth, through the soles of my feet. I also do sitting meditation as well at times.

Listening to nature sounds, water/rain sounds CDs or peaceful New Age music helps, too, as someone else wrote.

There is much we can all do in many ways. Diet & exercise, too. We *know* our hearts need our help as we all have gone through heart issues/events. We've had our "wake up calls," haven't we? So we know how important it is to change our lives to healthier lifestyles. Hard to do! But we CAN do it!!! :)
