Fuzzer's results from the vet

I wrote last week with the problem of Fuzzer peeing downstairs outside of his litter box. Last night he had his vet appointment for a full urinalysis. He didn't give me a sample yesterday during the day so the had to manually get one from him...poor guy! After about ten minutes, the vet came back in and let me know that everything came back fine and that it must be behavioral. So, I put another litter box downstairs for him to use and I'll be staying home this weekend anyways because of family plans. Both DH and I snuggled with him lots last night and I took an extra five minutes after the dog was in her kennel to play with Fuzz this morning. I'm crossing my fingers that we can get this thing solved and I can quit throwing out towels and carpeting he pees on!

This morning when I was coming through the living room, I noticed him flattened in the middle of the floor watching me with eagle eyes. I remember this look well and so I quickly tiptoed around the corner and waited for him to come running to tackle me! So cute!

Thanks for all of your tips and help!

I put together a quick website so that you can all see a few pics of Fuzz. Hopefully I'll have more up soon! http://pages.ivillage.com/tazlester/

Hi Leslie! I am happy to hear Fuzzer is medically ok. I sympathize with you since our Patches also goes outside her box from time to time. We tried all sorts of things like Feliway spray, putting her food dishes where she had peed so she wouldn't go there again, using enzymes to completely clean the carpet where she went, etc. I think she gets frustrated that she's on a diet and maybe she gets jeleous of our other cats. Its' hard to tell.

I hope you can figure out what was bothering adorable Fuzzer! (I love his photos!) Please keep us updated. You're such a good furmom checking him out at the vet and taking special time out to play with him. I'm sure he appreciates it!

Good luck & cuddles to sweet Fuzzer!

A few months or so there was someone here who posted and was having a lot of trouble with this and it may be helpful to talk to her but I cannot remember the member name so maybe someone will see this. Also if you go to the top of this board page there should be s spot to type in your problem and all the posts that pertain to this should come up.

Thanks! I like to think he's handsome, but I think I'm a little partial too! Last year we took in a 6 yr. old male cat that someone was getting rid of and going to have put down simply because they didn't want him. He was a very timid, quiet cat, but Fuzzer would have nothing to do with him. They stayed at opposite ends of the house and in the middle of the night I'd wake up to a snarling mess in the living room. Fuzzer was beginning to lose huge chunks of hair, I'm guessing from stress. We tried the situation for over 4 months and nothing got any better. We eventually had to find a new home for the new cat.

I don't know if Fuzz would react any better with a spayed female or a kitten and I'm kind of afraid to find out. DH's rule right now is one cat, but I might be able to convince him.
