Good Evening from me & Misha...

I thought you'd like a little update on how Misha did at the vet's today. I had to leave her there for 3 hours while I took dh to get an out-patient cortisone injection for his herniated disc (ouch!) When I got back to the vet's she said Misha seemed to be getting better to her. Her temp was over 104 when she first got there, but that could have been due to being in her carrier. It came down to around 101 by the time I picked her up. She was not given any liquids since they felt she was drinking enough on her own (yeah!!). She didn't think I needed to give her any more nose drops...just her nightly antibiotic. She has a little abrasion over her eye where she's been rubbing it with her paw, but otherwise she's as good as can be expected. She still seems quite subdued, sleepy and quiet compared to her usual talkative self, but I think she's just tired from fighting this nasty bug. If all goes well (I'm still waiting for her to get over this congestion) I can let her out of her isolation room on Saturday to begin officially meeting her sisters. I will continue calling in progress reports to the vet, but hopefully she won't need to see the vet again until she's over this & is ready for her rabies, and other shots.
She had a brief few minutes of looking out the window and chattering at the birds, but now she is once again sleeping soundly. (At least I am not hearing every single breath like the other night). She still takes some breaths through her mouth, but hopefully she'll be back to breathing through her nose soon.
I hope you are all having a wonderful evening with your furbabies. Give them all a snuggle for me!
Hugs,
Suzy

It sounds like she is finally getting of that darned bug.
Suzi, that's a good report.
How do those injections help your back pain? You poor thing! Every 6 weeks? I know they limit cortisone I believe to 3 shots every 6 months. I hope they're not giving you too much because they can really cause potential problems. (Tim's mom had too many cortisone shots in the past when she broke her tailbone. She ended up with paper-thin, delicate skin (which is why she sadly declawed the front paws of Boots, Patches & Thomie) and we also think it contributed to her early death by a blood vessel in her brain leaking. I don't mean to scare you, I just am concerned and want to make sure they're not overdoing the cortisone. (((Hugs))) I think Tim won't have anymore if these two don't work.
Give hugs & cuddles to Scooby!
Suzy
