Zipper talks to mice! LOL

We still have a mouse in our kitchen at night. Zipper has been faithfully watching for this mouse for well over a month now - maybe longer. The other day I walked into the kitchen and Zipper had his back to me. He was facing a corner of the kitchen where I imagine the mouse could have been - there's an opening under the cabinets that's supposed to be there - I think the mouse could be coming and going through there. Anyway, Zipper was just chattering away to that corner of the kitchen. He didn't realize I was behind him, nor did he chatter to me when he did see me. What a silly boy I have! I think he has or is trying to befriend this mouse.

(BTW, so far no luck with the Havahart traps. I think Zipper explained them to the mouse! LOL)

I could not even kill a mouse! My friend used one of those sticky traps and I was so mad at her!!

My cats will go on Mousie Watch for days at a time, too. Same open spot under the cabinets. They'll stare at the same spot for long periods. Once in a great while they catch one. then you should see me running around the house chasing them, trying to get the mouse & put it outside. Sometimes i succeed, but I don't know if they live long after this treatment. :o( Once in a great while, I'll find a mouse head. Eww!

Zipper sounds like quite a sociable and welcoming fellow.

LMBO, did you explain to Zipper that cats are not supposed to befriend mice?

Oh I can just imagine cute Zipper chattering to that mouse! LOL How adorable (albeit frustrating to you....giggle!) Don't feel bad. My cats also don't know they're supposed to catch rodents. When I let out my chinchillas, Thomie, Boots & Patches either just look or run away! LOL Misha on the other hand (when she's escaped her room for a few minutes before I realize she opened the door which wasn't quite latched) will go up to their cages & stare and act VERY interested....hmmmm.....I'd better make sure to supervise closely when she's near the chins! LOL

Good luck catching that mouse! I like the idea of humane traps. When I used to live in Michigan I noticed our apartment complex had set out several glue traps. I thought they were cruel so I threw them all away! They never figured out it was me, and they never put out any more traps. LOL

Maybe Zipper saw some Garfield episodes where he is just friends with the house mouse? LOL

Give Zipper lots of snuggles for me! :-)
