My friend Vicki's cat, Zen, is pregnant! I just thought I'd announce that here as a bit of good news. Zen is an all black adorable cat, so I can't wait to see the kittens.

Also, on a bit of a down note, I'm moving to apartments that unfortunately do not allow cats. Fortunately I have stealth cats, so I'll be sneaking them along with me anyways. They love to hide in boxes so I don't think it'll be a problem, unless Pearl the chatterbox tips someone off. Does anyone know how to coerce a cat into being a bit quieter? I'm not giving up my babies ... or, as we've been calling them lately, my flying white deathballs of doom.

I'm sorry, but a pregnant cat is rarely good news. What will your friend be doing with the kittens? Will she be keeping them all? Or does she have really great homes lined up already? I don't mean to sound rude but I hate to see kittens go to bad homes, or no homes at all. I wish everyone would just spay/neuter their pets!

I'm glad to hear you won't be giving up your cats, but you better check into the local tenancy laws in your area. If your cats are discovered, you could very well be evicted. Please be careful!

To be fair, if -everyone- spayed or neutered their pets eventually there would be none left. As for your concern, though, she's already got five different homes for them to go to, two of which are willing to take more than one kitten if need be.
