Hi! I love your SN. What is the story behind it?

I agree w/Cat. Please go to a shelter & adopt. They're full of sweet homeless kitties who might get put to sleep if they're not adopted. I don't think breeds of cats differ as much as breeds of dogs do, & just a "regular" cat, which most of us have, will be just as wonderful, & a WHOLE lot less expensive. At the Humane League here, they give you a WHOLE bunch of neat stuff when you adopt--a collar, food samples, coupons, a carrier, etc.

Maybe an adult cat, rather than a kitten, might be better w/little kids. It can take care of itself better. You could look for one whose records specifically say that it's good w/kids.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

I to would just go to a shelter and adopt. They are all good with kids and I do not think there is a special breed that is not. They told us Tiger would not be and he was fine. Good luck and hope another cat has a good home!!
