It's Misha's BIG DAY!
| Sat, 07-03-2004 - 10:33am |
After over 3 weeks in isolation, my dear Misha will be allowed out to discover the rest of the house and to meet her 3 sisters today! I allowed her out a short while last night while her sisters were downstairs in their big room. She sniffed around but was most interested in the chinchillas in their cages! LOL I will get the other spare room set up today so I can move the chinchillas in there and close the door for both their & Misha's safety (Our oldest chin was a rescue and she's not very friendly to new people or animals. I don't want her to, in defense, "projectile pee" on my Misha!)
I am putting her in a carrier as recommended & will let one cat at a time interact with her. I will let you all know how it goes! :-)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I hope our Canadian friends had a good Canada Day, and I hope our American friends have a wonderful Independence Day!
Hugs,
Suzy

Good luck Suzy.
hiya suzy!
that's so great about misha!
Yahoo, Suzy...
I'm assuming from your post that Misha is well on the road to recovery after fighting off that nasty infection for so long.
Well I started off by putting her in a carrier in the middle of the living room. First Thomie came up and just looked at her. No hissing....just looking from a safe distance. Next Patches was up. She looked at the carrier, and scampered by and went to lay on the bed. LOL Boots (who is likely the "top cat") then came up and also wasn't too interested in staying close by her carrier. I ended up letting Misha out to roam. She would get in staring matches with the various cats. It's was quite funny. Boots seemed unnerved. There was some hissing and a tiny bit of growling between the cats & sometimes each other. Thomie even freaked out on me when all I tried to do was pet her to reassure her. Patches is the only one who was brave enough to get close enough to try to sniff her rear end. LOL That was about it for their first day. Misha roamed the house and was also interested in checking out the basement where the other girls like to hang out sometimes. They weren't too happy about her coming into "their" territory, but they didn't try to attack her. She was still sniffling and sometimes coughing. I wish her congestion would clear up. That's the worst problem she has. (She also had more diarrhea, but that could be stress & maybe the antibiotics). She took her final antibiotic pill today. Yeaaaah!!! No more pills!!
It was so nice to finally see her play a bit with a toy mouse & a ball today, too! We moved the chinchillas safely into their own room & can now close the door & keep Misha away. Giggle! She was soooo interested in them.
Now she is on our bed all cozy and ready for some sleep. The other girls are downstairs safe & sound. It will be interesting to see how she does overnight with full access to the upstairs. Once she gets a little more at ease with her sisters, they can maybe all sleep in the same room. We'll see what tomorrow brings.....
Thank you all for your well wishes & for your encouragement throughout Misha's illness & recovery. She will go to the vet probably on Friday for a re-check to make sure she's really on the mend, and to maybe get her rabies & other shots.
I will get more photos soon. We can celebrate finally at long last! WHOO HOO!!!!
Misha sends lots of kitty purrs, kisses, and leg rubs with you all! :-)
Hugs,
Suzy
I am sure glad I don't have to give her any more pills. I am sure she does too. LOL
I continue to take her temperature each day to make sure she's not relapsing.
How's your sweet Sammy & Misha? I hope you're having a nice weekend. :-)
Hugs,
Suzy
Have a wonderful 4th!!

Sorry I'm so slow at replying to your e-mail. I've been too busy with these kitties the past couple days. LOL I will tomorrow, though. :-)
I loved Spiderman...how about you? Nice train scene.
Misha sends her love >^..^<
