Disstilled water is it bad for kitty?

Hi we have this little waterfall thing that sits on dh computer desk. It was a free gift from dh aunt. Right know it has bottled water in it but its supposed to have distilled water in it. Well little Mavis thinks it a really cool new kitty water fountain. If we where to put distilled water in it would it hurt her?

Hi Dawn,
Wow what a nice gift.
Distilled water shouldn't hurt her a bit. You might actually find she will drink more water using the fountain because it is constantly in motion and will taste fresher to her.
Enjoy your furkid!

Nope, it's good for her! Some people even recommend it to those that have kitties with urinary problems.

I am not sure about distilled water for pets, but I have read articles recently that indicate it's not good to drink distilled water all the time. One is:

I give my kitties water from the tap that's been filtered with Brita to get rid of the majority of impurities. My first cat Missy drank distilled water and she lived to be 15, so it isn't necessarily bad...but I now think there are better options.
My Boots & now also my Misha will drink water from my glass by the bed....giggle! They are funny, aren't they? LOL
I hope Mavis enjoys her kitty fountain!

Welcome to the board Dawn! Distilled water will not hurt kitty at all! Bet it is cute to watch her playing in it! LOL
My Dutchess likes to drink her water from a glass, so every morning we have to put new water in her glass! LOL
