I really used to hate all cats....

Then BF and i were walking through a shopping centre, and as I usually do, I made him come to the Pet Store to look at the dogs in the window (I am/was a hard core dog lover), well no dogs that day, only kittens. So kittens are cute anyway so we look. BF had a cat when he was growing up so he hadn't been around dogs til he met me, which he conveniently pointed out while watching the kitties. Then we spotted one that seemed to jump out at us, and lo and behold we committed the cardinal sin of pet ownership and bought a cat on the spur of the moment. I wasn't 100% keen, but BF was convincing me that our little girl (Jazz the maltese) needed a friend while we were at work. So we got the kitty. Could never figure out a name, so she is just Puss (which I now know is a very common name for cats!!!).

Puss is 1 1/2 now and I am enjoying her company all the time. I've kind of realised how dumb our dog is from watching puss-cat!!! Puss is a very entertaining creature. She is just a bizarre animal, so much more complicated than dogs. she chooses the most unusual places to sleep (like on top of the wire clothes horse, extremely uncomfortable, but as close to the heater as you can get!!!!).

She runs into our bedroom first thing in the morning and jumps on one of our chests and prods away for as long as we'll let her. She dribbles so much when she's in cuddle mode it's disgusting (but funny coz we know she's extra happy!). Then she does this strange thing when she's prodding, she stops, looks at you, then slowly puts her paw out and pats you on the face, usually mouth. She will repeat this a few times until we laugh (does anyone know what this means???).

I wish i found out earlier how funny cats are and how much fun they would be to have around. Jazz and Puss are like Milo and Otis, they just follow each other around like lost sheep. They have play fights every morning while we get ready to go to work and really make your days start nice. I am a converted cat lover!!!

Welcome and hope you enjoy visiting back often. It sounds like Puss stole your heart, as most cats will do. She sounds very affectionate which is the best.

My Tillie will be 5 years old in August and is the love of my life. She has some of the craziest antics and knows how to cheer me up when I'm blue. She also knows when I don't feel well and will be extra loving. Right now she is sprawled, belly up, under the ceiling fan, smack in the middle of the floor!

I look forward to hearing more stories about your Puss!

Sue & Tillie
