I was just curious what kind of litter boxes everyone prefers. Do you use the standard kind, the high sided kind, one with a cover, or one of those automatic cleaning kinds?

We had a high sided one (with the lid removed) for Misha. I wanted to see if her blood was still in the urine, which is hard to do with clumping litter, and yet she obliged me by urinating standing up....and it going over the side of the box tonight. I can't be upset (it got on some of her toy mice....darn!), and I'm actually glad because when I cleaned it up I could see normal urine....NO BLOOD! I am so happy the antibiotics seem to be working! YIPPEE!!!

Dh is bugging me to put the lid on the box now so she can't go over the side. I'm not real thrilled with lids....sigh.

I look forward to hearing your litter box stories...(.giggle! ) and why you use a particular type of box and you can even mention the litter you prefer. I love suggestions.

Off to sleep at last....

I have a high sided large litter box (left over from ^Pudd^) that has a cover but at one point I took the cover off when he was having a lot of trouble getting into it - I never put it back on, don't know why...

Hi Suzy. I have quite a variety of litter boxes. None are covered.

Zipper has a high sided litter pan with cover. We use plastic pan liners and Scoop Away litter. I have a small bath rug in front of the pan so if any litter gets tracked out, it gets caught in the rug.

I use different brands of clumping litter. Use the baking soda deod. for cats you put in it also. I have a extra large litter box from Pets Plus. I put it inside a large cardboard box with a door cut out, no top, to keep the litter from getting everywhere. donna

We have two large cover litter boxes. I'm glad we have them because the cats like to kick the litter out of the box. We use scoop away multi cat litter because our oldest cat will not use anything else. We use the mats in front of the box, too. We scoop once a day.

Evening Patrick!

We also have 2 large litter boxes side by side downstairs that our other 3 cats use. Misha ran down there this afternoon when the door was opened and used one of them right in front of Patches. LOL She's trying to show them she belongs....giggle!

Misha's box upstairs is large but she does just like your Sammy and sometimes stands up after initially squatting, and over the side of the box it goes! I don't think she realizes it. I'm just happy there's no more blood to the naked eye. I do like you and scoop 2 or 3 times a day (our Patches especially is very picky about having a clean box. LOL), and wash & change litter once a month.

Misha sure was hungry today. She ate about 5/8 cup of food! I told her that was enough for today or I'd end up putting her on the diet food Patches is on. LOL Unfortunately Boots & Thomie both reacted badly today to Misha. I had to put Misha in her room a few times for fear that she might be attacked by the others. Patches was the calmest this time and just sniffed noses with her. I think the re-introduction methods may have to be used.

We'll see what tomorrow brings. I'm so glad your Misha & Sammy are such good friends! :-)

Have a good night!

Very pretty siggy Pink! I thought of you the other day when buying my professional shampoo. (I have had a cosmetology license for several years even though I don't cut hair for a living anymore. I keep the license current so I can go to beauty supply houses & buy good stuff for half price!) I started using a Catwalk brand with a raspberry lemonade scent that is so wonderful. When I see your name I think of that....you'd love it! Giggle.

I agree....it's good to stick with litter they like. I scoop especially often for Misha since I see her box often throughout the day (her box is in "her room" which is our computer room). Dh used to scoop the other boxes but since his back problems I've taken over. I think I do it better since I scoop more often. The cats appreciate it, too.

Just a few days & Daisy will be all better! You & she are in my thoughts & prayers.

Sweet Dreams,

Suzy
