Bored Kitty...

I have a 2 year old kitty I rescued from the MSPCA shelter and she seems pretty happy except that she has no interest in her toys or her climbing tree or kitty condo anymore. She does LOVE to catch moths though and I stand outside on the doorstep and catch moths in my hands that go near the outside light and bring them in for her to chase. Winter's coming and the moths will be gone soon. I have tried EVERY cat toy possible with her but she quickly gets bored with whatever I do. She is my little shadow though and follows me everywhere around the house. I am not able to get another kitty as a playmate for her either at this time, but I know she would love that if I did.

So, my question is, do you think she is bored or just likes to sleep alot or is there anything else I can do to entertain her? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lauren (Ginger's Mommy)

I think maybe it is just some cats,Tiger never played much his whole life even though we tried. He did like to sit and look out the window though

My cat was never really interested in cat toys either. What she did love though was toilet paper rolls and shoe boxes. Maybe you could try some unconventional (but safe) "toys" or maybe--like everyone else has said--there is just no interest in toys.

Wow! Thanks for all your replies to my post, what a wonderful group of people here! Yes, Ginger loves looking out the windows and catching moths so maybe thats enough for her. I feel alot better after reading your replies, I was feeling guilty, like I wasn't doing enough for her, but I guess I'm doing ok being her Mommy afterall...Thanks so much again!

Sincerely, Lauren :)
