... Hi guys...

We got moved to new house... I know I asked this before, but want to double check on something... Our new house is about 2 miles from the old one. Kitty Girl is 10 years old..I have been keeping her in to use to her new home... how long before I can take her out on lash and show her around out side...???

I don't want her to get away and try to get back to our other house. She sets in the window and watches Rider climb trees... I know she loves being out with me... but I want to keep her safe. Little Rider is doing good..

Thanks

My in-laws had the same exact issue. They kept their cat in for a good amount of time, at least a week, then let him out. He did disappear for a few days, then reappeared. We believe he went to the old house, saw that nothing was their for him anymore, that his family was at the new place, and went back there. He's been fine ever since. When we got our first apartment, I brought my cat with me, who had been living in a house with my parents. That first night, he started scratching up the carpet and the door and hollered so loud we couldn't sleep. I got so mad I let him out, then was in absolute agony and guilt. He was gone for six days, all during that time I would burst into tears several times a day. I even lost my appetite and couldn't sleep. I was sure he was a goner. Then suddenly one night, I heard the familiar meow. I don't know where he went or what he did, and we were a long way away from my old house, but he came back. We always said we wished we had a camera on his collar to witness his adventures. I think your kitty will be fine.

I don't know but do you keep him on a leash. Maybe you should not let him loose at all!

How are things??? Surgery????

How secure is the collar/leash? My cats that go outside are loose. When I bring a new kitty home and if it is going to be inside/outside I will tote the cat around the yard, sit outside with the cat in my lap ect...for several weeks before I let the cat go outside, even then it is for 5-10 min. with me outside too for several more weeks. donna

Thanks for all the replys... we have been here a month now... Kitty Girl wants out,she comes to the door when ever we go or come..but doesn't really push her way to get out. Loves the windows that she can set in and look out... There is a few cats around the neighborhood... I wonder about that too. Guess I'll just feel my way. I would like to went tell spring...

Thanks again
