Have a appt on the 27th to get Ellie fixed and declawed on the front(Yes I know many of you think it is cruel but I really need to,if she ever scratched a daycare child and they made a stink they could pull my license or make me get rid of her)Our vet has a new procedure and they use a laser so there is no actual insision to stitch up and no wrapped feet ete. I am already so nervous as I was with the others and hate to leave her there!!!

I'm against declawing, but the laser procedure sounds better than the old way. I also have a daycare, 17 years and counting, started out with 0 pets, now have 15 cats, 5 inside-only. They have never scratched a child. The kids here know they can not play with the cats without my permission. Most of my cats watch the kids from a distance or have a good personality and want to be loved on. If you were licensed when the cat was already there, that means the state has approved the cat being there and you just need to keep the rabies shot current, litter box away from kids area, and watch where you put the cat food and water. My DHR licenser woman has said if someone doesn't like the animals they can use another sitter. If your cat did scratch or bite a child 99% of the time the child was being mean or rough with the cat. donna

I know it's always a worry when our furkids have to go in for their operations.

I totaly agree with you . Tiger was also declawed and I really think this new laser is really good. They siad no bleeding or anything. I will make sure she has pain meds.I did not know you had a daycare! Do you ever go to the daycare boards?
