Introduction--is this normal??

We recently adopted a 4-mo-old kitten (Binx) to keep our 6-mo-old kitten (Skeeter) company. We've put them together with hardly any hissing or growling--unless a toy is introduced into the mix--but, Skeeter endlessly follows Binx around with his nose attached to the little guy's butt! Why do they do this?

Also, Skeeter keeps stalking, pouncing on, and biting at Binx. With two kittens so young, does this generally go away relatively quickly?

I just want them to get along. :(

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I've been a poster on another cat forum for a while now, but they weren't answering my questions...just telling me "That's normal. It will pass." But, I wanted to know WHY it's normal. Thank you for telling me.

I did check out the "kitten help" page about introducing new kittens. It put my mind to rest. Everyone else was telling me that there's this 2-week-long process I had to go through by keeping them separated, swapping scents, changing places...but our home is just so small that I was stressing out that we weren't introducing Skeeter and Binx "the right way." Your way sounds much more realistic...and it works, too! (As I've read in other postings here).

I'm happy to have found your forum and will be stopping by much more. Thank you, again.
