My cat is 8 months old (male) anyways I walked into the house today only to smell cat urine(first time) I hunted all over for the smell, and it was comming from a suitcase my fiance left on the floor after comming home form his trip the other day,boy he will be happy his suitcase is runied, wont he? anyways it was also wet,I am assuming he sprayed it, and of course it stunk! I got on the phone right away and made an appointment for the vet, but cant get him in untill nov. 10th, when I get him fixed will he still spray???????? is there anything i can do in the mean time to stop him from doing this? Please let me know, I just got new carpeting not to long ago!! Also has anyone heard of a cat that goes to the bathroom in the bathroom sink as you r going???? I will sit down to go the cat jumps in the sink right next to me(we have double sinks) squats down and actually pees in the sink, then when hes done he actually does all the litter kicking motions, I swear my cat must be part human!!! would be nice if I can get him to poop and pee in the toliet!! But thanks for any of your help!! Oh, if I leave the suitcase out will he just continue to spray on that same spot, cuz if he will just spray on that suitcase, I would rather have him spray on that and replace it after he gets fixed then to have to replace my living room carpeting again?

Adding to the list Cat gave you: When I had a cat w/a peeing problem, he liked anything (esp. soft stuff) that was on the floor. So if I were you, for the time being, I would not put anything on the floors--throw rugs, shoes or socks, pillows, anything you can posibly keep off the floor. It takes a while to break the habit of dropping your shoes on the floor, but believe me, it's worth it. Good luck.

And yes, I have heard of cats that pee in the sink. If it doesn't bother you, I wouldn't worry about it. I've also heard of them peeing in the tub. Ans some people do train their cats to use the toilet. LOL. I once knew of a cat that did it w/o training!
