I know this has been answered before but I cannot find it! Ellie has been biting,I am sure she is not doing it to be mean as only 16 weeks. Last night she was sleeping with dd and bit her in the leg though the balnket and broke the skin. (Could she get a inf.??)

Also I have said that hse is a "ffod" cat where Tiger never was. Today when I was cooking she jumped into the garbage can!!!!LOL!!

Chris, Ellie is such a cute little kitten, it's for me to imagine that she bites.

I think it depends on a person's immune system. Some people tend to be more susceptible to infections. An ex-coworker of mine got a NASTY infection from a cat bite once, and also from a dog bite a few years earlier. Another time, she broke a glass while washing the dishes, and slashed her hand. She got a horrid infection from that too.

Personally, I've been bitten by cats loads of times, and I've never gotten an infection (knock on wood). All the same, it wouldn't hurt to make sure your dd has an up-to-date tetanus shot (can you get tetanus from a cat bite? I've heard you can get it from dog bites).
