seafood for cats? I have had vets that have said never give any and other vets that think it is fine. There's seafood in almost every kind of cat food and treat.

Do you mean the fish-flavored foods? I read many years ago that if you give it to them, they might start to refuse to eat anything else.

We have sea-flavored food treats that both of my cats gobble up. I don't think they're very picky though, if there's a treat they eat it. :) Otherwise the one who didn't eat it fast enough will have it eaten by the other.

I have heard that too much seafood depletes some of the minerals in cat's bodies, but not sure if that's true. I give my cats seafood as a treat occasionally.

One of my concerns is that one of the ingredients in the Chicken Soup For The Cat Lovers Soul is salmon. It has chicken listed first and then (I don't know what order) duck, chicken

I read in a book that you should not feed them seafood-flavored cat food because it has ash in it and eventually it will cause health problems for the cat. I do feed my cats a can of Fancy Feast every day - mostly the fish because that is what they really like, especially the flaked trout. I assume that since it is actually seafood and not "seafood-flavored" that it is okay. As far as dry food - I never buy them the seafood-flavored kind. Iri
