Cat won't eat

Two weeks ago my cat got into liquid potpourri. It caused burning in her mouth, etc. She has been treated and the damage in her mouth is healed, but she will not eat on her own. We have taken her to the vet to be force fed and hydrated and we are not force feeding with a syringe to keep nutrition and fluid in her. We have tried many different foods, etc and are at wits end. I am afraid we may be feeding her with a syringe for the rest of her life. Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? If so, what did you do? She's a seal-point siamese and too small and petite to go too long without food.

I experienced this with one of my cats a few years ago. We had to force feed her for four months due to fatty liver syndrome. This happens when a cat stops eating. A layer of fat builds up around the liver, and then causes the cat to stop eating for good. Continue to force feed your cat until the cat starts eating again. When the cat starts eating again, the fatty liver sydrome will be cured. Again, we fed our cat with a syringe eight times a day for four months until she started eating again on her own, but she is still with us today.
