Hi!!! I'm new to this board so a big Hi to all of you. Anyways my husband has had our cat for four years. He found Silly our cat at his old apartment...he was just a stray. Ever since he has been an indoor cat...declawed him and stuff. He has always tried to run out of the house everytime we open the door. Once in a while we do take him on a leash for a walk outside. Anyways lately he has been constantly mewing by the door and I mean constantly. Non stop just crying and crying and crying. We've taken him twice already this week but the crying doest stop. He stands on his hind feet and holds on to the door knob. What do I do?? My husbands at work all day and I am home with a crying cat. Please Help!!!!

Do you still live in an apartment or do you have a house? If you have a yard, you could build a cat enclosure, even a 5x5 size where the cat goes from the window to a small enclosure. Type cat enclosure in the search engine and you will gets lots of sites with info and pictures of these. If a cats used to being outside, its hard keeping them in. Some adjust easily and some don't. donna

No we still live in an apartment. We live on the second floor and our apartment opens to a hallway...so its not like he is tempted everytime the door opens. All he sees is the hallway. Thanks

Hi Leslie!! Thanks for the reply. We do have a napper right by the window. We have the window open all day for him. Hes our baby for now so he does have lots of toys and we do play with him, pamper him and spend time with him. I didnt know they make outdoor boxes for cats. I'm on the second floor...do they have something that you attach to a window. He doesnt get a long with other cats...he hisses at them. Anyways I really cant take him out everyday but I cant bear to hear him cry all the time. Besides the fact it is so annoying I feel sorry for him. What do I do??

kittyview.com has the window enclosure the other poster is probally talking about. I would be extremely sure its secure for a 2nd floor window. Maybe a small aquar. will give your cat some excitement. Do you have a tall cat tree? These are well liked. Good luck.

Most cats will hiss and growl at other cats until they are well introduced. It's just the way cats are, they are very territorial.
