what to do about strange visitor cat?

I guess I just need a little help from other cat lovers.
We have three cats already and for about two weeks now we've had this really cute large male come to our house almost daily to "visit" with them. I checked him out by myself before I let our cats out there with him, he's very friendly and calm, seems like he's eating well, he seems clean and like he's taken care of. The only thing I noticed is that his ears are very dirty and he didn't seem to be neutered.
He gets along really well with our cats, its so cute watching them interact, our cats just get so excited when they see him through the window. (Ours are all spayed/neutered)

The problem is that last night I smelled cat pee in our kitchen and I couldn't find a puddle anywhere. Then later the stranger cat was sitting on the window ledge outside the kitchen and he sprayed the window while we were standing right there. I woke up this morning and the kitchen smells like cat pee again.

I would love to be able to say that we could take this guy in, get him neutered and give him a home. But I'm three weeks away from delivering our first baby and we already have a young cat who is a handful, I just don't think we can handle it right now.

I am thinking about getting this guy in a cat carrier and taking him to a no kill animal shelter. I just can't have our kitchen smelling like cat pee constantly, and I really don't like thinking that he's going to be out there making more unwanted kittens in the neighborhood.

I just feel guilty about it for some reason. I wonder if he's somebody's pet, but then if he were, why does he spend so much time outside and why haven't they neutered him yet?

What should I do? What would you do?

Chances are, if he's an adult and he's un-neutered, he's a stray - most people unless they are breeding a cat would have it neutered for that very reason - the unbearable smell of male cat urine.

Cat =^..^=

I agree with Cat. I would take him to the no-kill shelter.

Thanks you two, I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else, just to be sure I'm doing the right thing. I just don't know why I feel so guilty about it! Thank you!

I would feel guilty too, but if you can't keep him, then it's best for him.

i feed many stray cats on my front porch. and have had many a smell come in from the front door. i found that a good pet oder remover like the kind you would use inside which removes cat or urine smell work wonders. i have sprayed my door and front porch and the smell is gone. once the smell is gone, and probally after a few more sprays, the outside cat will not spray anymore as the smell will be gone. i can't afford to fix all the cats so this is the best i can offer. he is marking your house as his and with alot of patience and cleaning on your part he will stop spraying there and probally will head to a bush or like mine the next door neighbors bushes. hope it helps

This is odd, he hasn't been back since I made the decision to take him in! Maybe he figured it out, haha.

I don't know if that's good or bad.
