Andromeda is still pretty bad. She was throwing up some blood last night. She has lost over 2lbs since Christmas too. Her abdomen is tender again (not the area of the spay, the bulge is smaller again). Her fever was back up to about 103.4 this morning too. Her gums are not starting to look bad at the teeth line, like she has bad gingivitis. She was given B12, hydration, antibiotics and such today. Some of her test results were in and were perfect and normal. More unhelpful stuff. More results MAY be in today, but likely Monday. If she is not improving over the weekend and depending on the test results that come in, 1 possibility could be abdominal exploratory, but this is hard on her and the doctor is not wanting to do this yet (not that I will allow it, I am unsure) and another he may suggest if she keeps declining (as she cannot continue not eating much beyond early next week, it will kill her) is going to a university hospital (the 2 closest are Spokane Washington {about a 8 hour drive} and Denver Colorado {10 hours drive}). This is really starting to get scary.
Apollo is still keeping food down, which is good. His fever is up a bit to 102.9 today though.

{{{David}}} I'm so sorry that Andromeda isn't doing well at all.
I am hoping for the best. I have been following your posts and keeping Andromeda and Apollo in my thoughts everyday. Is it possible to consult with the University hospitals by phone before actually going there? I often read articles about hard to diagnose human medical problems and it seems people do call around to a few doctors in different places before going there. Many people have gone through mulitiple doctors before finding one who can make a correct diagnoses; in this case time is of the essence and a phone call or two is quick. Would these hospitals have different treatment options than your vet, or is he just thinking they might have a better idea of a diagnosis? If it is the latter, calling by phone will determine if they have some thoughts, once they hear the case history. I can also suggest calling the Animal Medical Center in NYC just to consult with and see if they have ideas about what it could be. It is like the Mayo Clinic of animal hospitals; a huge medical building with multiple specialists in all areas, open 24/7, and I have found them to be fantastically nice and caring in the past. It just might be worth a call, just to see if any of the specialists (and there are hundreds there) have ideas. (they have a website) I'm not suggesting a trip there; just help in the diagnosis, which is what is needed.
I will continue to hope and pray for the best.
