Another mouth to feed?

I really wish people would take proper care of their pets...

Last night at 1:40 AM I was awoken (is that a word) by a pitiful mew at the back door. I thought it was Rambo being pushy for his breakfast so I didn't go down. But that cat kept on meowing. "Ugh! grrrr", I thought and went down stairs. Turns out it is a different cat meowing at my back door. I have never seen this cat before. It is a long-haired pointed cat. His points are a orangy color. He also has big blue eyes that are crossed severely. Last night I thought that maybe he was an indoor cat that had gotten out but this morning I decided he must be another outside cat. I scratched his head a little and found bumps from fighting. Plus his coat was very course and rough like a kitty who has been on the streets for awhile.

Poor baby, he was still on my door step this morning. I fed him last night and again this morning. He left after this mornings feeding.

Rambo was in a quandry as to where he was going to get his breakfast. But he read my mind. He met me at the front door for his breakfast.

I am totally kitty-whipped. I swear word gets around in the cat community of places to get a good meal. They must leave signs like the hobos used too.

I'm the same way. I can always feed one more! I've got a tom cat under my house right now, he has been here over 2 weeks. Doesn't come up to me but is waiting to eat twice a day. He has not be bothering my other cats (who are all fixed) too much. I don't know why he is here. He has a healthy weight on him. I don't get too many that come through and stay. Donna

How common are crossed-eyes in non-purebred cats? His eyes and his coloring make me think that he is a purebred. He could be a kitty that has got out of his home accidently and has managed to survive on the streets. He was very friendly. Sniffed my fingers and let me scratch his head. Heartbreaking!

I am being eaten out of house and home!!! The indoor kitties have been eating the good, expensive stuff from Petco. But I can't feed everybody the expensive cat food. UGH! A bag is $17 for 8 lbs! It does't last long feeding 4 cats!

Awww. Perhaps you could put up signs around to see if anyone recognizes him? Just a thought. I'd be feeding the neighborhood too but, as I live with my mom, I'd get in trouble. LOL Not really "trouble", but I'd get told to stop and I have to listen to my parents. ;-)

Well, I feed Purina One, $15. for 16 lbs., I buy a bag a week, where my $ goes is I go through 14 small cans of cat food a day or several big cans. Either way, its too much, my two newest kitties are pigs, they will take your hand off over the can food. I want to do can in the morning only, but I don't know if it will work or not. I really need to cut down on the can food expense. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the kitties use to can once a day? I'm weak, I'd probally give in to them pretty quickly. Also, one cat is very old, he has to eat can food over dry, guess I could sneak him into my bedroom to eat. Counting the stray cat I am feeding 18 I think!!! Donna

I feed my feral cats the Costco brand cat food. It's 20 pounds and a little under 10 pounds. It's a fairly good food for the money.

Talk about something bothering you...Twice now two rescue groups have told me they would help foster some kitties, then wham! they back out. I'm getting very discouraged! This has happened again today, I'm willing to drive around the world, start getting everyones hopes up and then...these two rescue groups keep changing their minds. I hope my week improves! Donna
