There are several things that companies can do to solve the anti-freeze problem. They can make animal SAFE anti-freeze or add something to it to make it smell and taste bad.

Maybe we should start a letter-writing campaign, or a petition, to send to the manufacturers of anti-freeze. Demand that they ONLY manufacture the pet-friendly type.

Letters and petitions to local and provincial/state politicians wouldn't hurt either. Even something as small as a municipal by-law banning the sale of reg. antifreeze would be a huge victory to start with.

Yes. THe link in my post takes you to a site that also has the info you suggested including who to contact. I have contected the site orginazation and asked where I can get the bitter additive and how much is needed. I figure I can start myself now and not wait for the politicians and greedy manufactures to not act. ;) Plus I can contact my vet and perhaps they will sell the additive if I can suppy it to them.

I think it should be a law to make it safe!

You are RIGHT! What steps can we take to have antifreeze (the taste) changed? Who do we call, email or write to? We should start a petition? or something to send to anyone we can think of that has some power over this. Donna

A good place to start will be the Doris Day Animal League: http://www.ddal.org/antifreeze/
