As you know, ds's gf found a 5 wk. old kitten by the side of an extremely busy street. Brought him to me. About 3-4 days later and mother cat was shot or run over, hearing 2 different stories, and her 4 kittens (3 1/2 wks old then) were left by a street, in bushes. I am fostering them. Its been about a week. They had to be bottle fed to start with. Also needed help using the bathroom and slept on a heating pad at night. I have blocked off a large area in my house for them to stay in. They are eating 4 times a day. It has been hard work. They are already spoilt. Want to get in my lap and sleep after every meal. They will fuss if you leave them. They are trying to break out of their huge area. Needless to say I am getting no housework done, my washer and dryer are near the area they are in, they can see me doing the dishes etc... Donna

Did you read somewhere I posted about getting the kittens? Had to buy two of them from some teenager in the Projects area of town. He was going to sell them for, I'm sure nothing good. The lady with me got the guy p off'd so I talked to him, said I had a teenager, knew you needed some money etc...bullsh....with him!!! Anyway I got the two other kittens, that was the goal. It was fun, just knew I'd be the next drive by shooting victim you read about!! Donna

Talk about work, they are very time consuming! I have been looking like a bag lady for a week now. My clothes have tiny footprints on them, between food and potty time. They are all curled up on a rug in front of the refrig., where the warm air blows on them. They don't want to stay in the dining area, want the dining room and kitchen! I just don't want poopoo on my carpet. They will go from the kitchen to their area to use the litter boxes. Donna

See if you can't borrow a baby Bjorn or baby sling from someone.

What a difference a couple of days makes. They are getting stronger, more "sure" footed. Not lap babies all the time, though whenever I go into the kitchen they think its time to eat, they have formula and/or can food 4-6 times a day. It is still hard to clean the kitchen and wash clothes because they are under foot. They hear me up at 5am in the kitchen and have to have warm formula then. Things are a little easier for me. They are running around more, I quit containing them, it wasn't working and my dining room looked like a tornado had come through. Donna

I know what you mean, at first I was telling my dh, be quiet, you'll wake the kittens! The two calico's are more vocal. They also love my dogs. Prissy, my husky mix loves to bathe them. Donna
