Willingly sharing a litter box?
| Tue, 05-31-2005 - 6:07pm |
Last night I was scooping Bailey's litter box, when I noticed that one of the stools was, well, Tasha-sized. Sure enough, Tasha's box was unused!
Why would Tasha not use her own box, and use Bailey's instead? Is she trying to "claim" it or something? She doesn't bother him when he is in it though... is she just wanting to share? LOL. I just thought it was odd, when she's been using the box in the bathroom for nearly a year and a half now. Why would she use a different box in a different location?

This happens frequently... when I first got Timmy, I had two separate boxes and I eventually moved them closer to each other, once they were side by side... Timmy's never got used, ever!

My cats share 2 boxes.

LOL! Well, we changed the litter in both boxes on Sunday, and now it is Wednesday and Tasha's box is still clean as a whistle! LOL. This will make things easier in the new apartment - there's only room for one box in the bathroom, and there won't be a 2nd bedroom for the 2nd box, like we have now.
(BTW - I SAW Tasha in Bailey's box yesterday, so it's not that she is going somewhere else.)

Wow that's fast that they are already sharing a litter box. I have heard that cats use other cat's litter boxes to mark territory.
I know - she MUST have been lonely! Poor thing!
She actually let Bailey sneak into her food dish this morning - WHILE she was eating!!! And she didn't get mad!!! And before that, I watched as Bailey hung himself around Tasha's neck, and Tasha just kept looking up at me as though nothing was happening. LOL!
Yup.... I think they will be just fine. :)

That's wonderful that Tasha and Bailey are friends already. It sure made it easy for you!
