I think Bad Annie hurt herself

When I woke up this morning, Bad Annie was limping and holding up her right front paw. I didn't get home from work until really late this evening, and she's still doing it. I ran my hands up and down it, and it doesn't feel like it's broken. She's still climbing to her normal places and doesn't seem to be acting sick...just limping and holding up the paw. Any ideas on what I should do? Should I just watch her for a few days and see if gets better? I have no idea what she could have done. For once, everything in my home is in it's place, except for the items she kicked off the table this evening.

I would watch her, she could have sprained it or something I guess. If she keeps limping on it, I would have her looked at. If she just sprained it, or pulled a muscle or something it might go away after a day ot two. Does she cry when you touch it? If it's hurt really badly she probably would.
I hope she gets better soon.

I would watch it for a day or so...if she is still limping tomorrow, try and get in to see your vet.

Great message Cat about the pain meds. I often wonder how many people are actually aware of this. I know I've had friends and family who didn't know this until I advised them to never give their cat any kind of pain meds before seeking veterinary care.

My first husband was a pharmaceutical rep and we often discussed that industry, the drug testing and drugs were brought to market. In one conversation we discussed how if cats had been used to test aspirin we wouldn't have aspirin on the market today.

I found this link which discusses aspirin and other household drugs which we should all be very careful with around the house. Thought is was a good reminder.

I didn't know that aspirin was poisonous to cats. I wouldn't give it to her anyways. I'm super paranoid about medicines with myself. I won't mix meds, don't like to take more than proscribed (like people who take 3 or 4 ibuprofen. Hello? Bottle says 1, and take a second if it doesn't help.) Anyways, so I wouldn't give my kitties any medicine that didn't come from the vet. Super paranoid.

She didn't cry when I touched it. And she's still climbing up on things, though gingerly. She was limping around this morning, still. Knowing her, she probably fell off the kitchen counter that she's not supposed to be on!

I feel it's better to be paranoid than not.

The Christmas Tree must have had muscle aches, hence the ibuprofen in the water. But what a sad way to find out medicines are bad for cats. I'm going to share all this with my mom. While she's never given her cats people medicine, I know she gave our old dog baby aspirins. She thought he had arthritis, but it turned out he had pain because he was riddled with cancer. Poor dog.

I felt so bad for Annie's sore paw last night, that I carried her down the stairs to her litterbox and food. She went down the stairs herself this morning, just slowly. I'm hoping she's ok. I don't want to have to take her to the vet again. She just had her shots 2 weeks ago. My wallet is still recovering.
