Tuesday morning scare.....

So I wake up this morning and realize that Zachary isn't in bed with me, but know that he was there most of the night. We had just had a snuggling session about 4:00 AM as usual and then we catch a few more winks before we get up. So I think he's probably up and maybe in the litter box or something. I get out of bed, Gabe jumps off the kitty condo in the my bedroom and up on the bed so I stop for more snuggles. Then we start downstairs to get breakfast.

To my surprise and fright as I come down the stairs the door from my garage is standing wide open and there is Zachary right by the door(as if coming in). Now the door knob lock was turned to the locked position, but evidently I didn't get it pushed closed enough to catch in the door. Of course I checked and both garage doors were down and everything seemed ok, but I have no idea how long that door was open. I don't know if Gabe went for an explore early in the night or what.

Boy, I will be extra careful when closing the door from now on. I'm wondering if with all the rain and humidity we've had the wood is swelling or something and the door just didn't catch.

Moral of the story, just because it looks closed doesn't mean it is. I will have to double check this from now on.

Have a good day!

Lynn

You think that's bad, my brother had a scare yesterday, I'll have to call him today and see how it turned out. I talked to my Dad last night and my parents were at my brother's a good part of the day helping him and his fiance look for his two cats. Apparently one of the doors didn't get shut all the way, and they got out. Luckily they live on mt Grandmother's 300 acre farm, But... my aunt has a big dog, that scared them. One of them ran up a tree and my brother had to go up the tree and get him down. The other one(the younger of them) came back to the door, but the door wasn't open, and before they could get to the door to let him back in, the dog spotted him and scared him off again. They locked the dog up, and were looking for him still last night, and left one of the doors open(had the other cat in the bedroom w/the door shut) hoping he would come inside. They were frantic. At least they are in the country and not many people around, nor cars and such, but still....

I'm so glad they were ok! I worry about that happening. The doors in my new condo aren't latching right. I have to pretty much throw my weight against them to get them to close right. My neighbor 2 condos down can open my garage door (we have an issue with out garage door openers)...and I'm afraid she'll accidently open my garage door and I don't have my inner door latched and locked right.

Why can't we just put a giant screen room around our homes?

That's so scary. I'm so glad Zachery didn't go out and get lost or hide from you.
