Maine Coon--problem with breath

hello all, i am new to the board. I welcome and appreciate any advice. I adopted a Maine Coon cat from a reputable breeder around 3 months ago. She was born on July 31, 2004 so she's not quite a year old. Whenever I received her, i was giving her herbal medicine (don't know the name)b/c she had surgery in January for a broken leg and her vet had prescribed the medication. I haven't taken her to my own vet b/c when i got her i received her shot record and a clean bill of health from January 04.

Anyways, Her breath has smelled badly since i got her and I thought it was probably due to those pills, but she has been off of them for 2.5 months and her breath still stinks! I looked in her mouth the other day and It seems that the teeth right behind her canines are just barely coming in. I know that this breed grows slowly, but is this normal? Could a tooth problem be causing her breath to stink? I feed her a 3 oz can of wet iams and then she also eats iams dry food. Her breath smells nothing like either of these. She also has no problem eating the dry food...i.e. it doesn't seem to bother her teeth if she does have a tooth problem. Please advise. Thanks!!! :)

Thank y'all for the advice. I will definately get her to the vet soon. My cat's name is Sweetie and she was almost 8 months old when i got her. She is very sweet and cuddly, she just loves to eat and to sit right on top of you. She also loves to lick my hair which i don't understand. At 5:00 every morning (everyone's asleep) she'll come right up to my pillow and lick my hair...it drives me crazy. I tell her no and if i'm not persistant enough she keeps coming back thinking i'll change my mind! lol I also have a mini. schnauzer who was also born on 7/31/04 and they hit it off pretty well. If Zoe (my dog) is not chasing Sweetie, then Sweetie is chasing Zoe. They are pretty loud when they play but i know my dog doesn't hurt my cat b/c she has yet to unleash her claws and hurt the dog. In fact, if the dog leaves the cat alone then the cat will go seek her out and torment her. She is quite strange in that she will even eat dog food! I have to be very careful to put it out of her reach when I am not around. Since she broke her leg (she fell off of a counter while playing) she is not able to jump on the counters which is quite nice. I feed her on top of our dryer and i have to lift her up there so she can eat. She's pretty spoiled! I really like reading all of the great advice on this forum. I will come back and visit often. Thanks again.
