Have the vet check the nail..I would not let them together without you present for awhile

It happens sometimes that kittens are born with extra nails. My sister's cat had extra toes AND extra nails. A couple of her nails sort of split into two. It was the weirdest thing I had ever seen.

Let your resident cat get used to the kitten's scent for a few days before letting them interact face to face. This will calm her nerves a bit, since she'll have some time to get used to the idea of a new kitty in the house before she actually has to physically interact with him.

He is a cutie! Have the vet check the nail and let him advise on what needs to be done.

As far as the introduction period, it varies from cat to cat. However, this is one of the most important steps to ensure that your kitties adapt and really get along so you don't want to rush it. See link below for proper introduction from Pam Johnson Bennett.
