Painting with Kittens

No, I don't mean using kittens instead of brushes. What a faux finish that would make!
My question: is it ok to paint a room if there is a kitten in the house? As I've said before, my new 8 week old kitten is quarantined in the spare bedroom, due to his ringworm. I had been planning on painting my bedroom this coming weekend. My bedroom is 2 doors away from the spare bedroom. Is it ok to be painting in the house, when I have a kitten closed in another room?
I'm asking, because didn't think there would be a problem. However, my mom....who was supposed to be helping me paint...is expressing concerns about painting with a new kitten in the house. So if this is an issue....how the heck am I supposed to paint?

DBF and I painted our bathroom a couple of weeks after we brought Bailey home. I didn't think it would be a problem at all. We kept the door closed and the fan on until it was completely dry (it was the cheapest, crappiest flat paint we could find so it only took a few hours). I can assure you Bailey suffered no ill effects! LOL.
As long as Kieran is in another room (which he will be), and especially since you are only doing one room, I don't see a problem.

See, that's what I was thinking. I bought the paint 2 months ago, with the intent on painting every few weeks. We painted an accent wall in the kitchen right after buying the paint, and it didn't smell at all. I hate the smell of paint, and I wasn't bothered at all. So I'm thinking it should be ok.
Just to be safe, I called the vet. They said that since I'll have my air conditioning on, there will be air circulating in the room, and Kieran should be ok.
I think my mom just doesn't want to help me paint after saying she would. I need help, because the room in question is rather large and has a cathedral ceiling. I'm afraid of heights, so I need help from someone who can actually climb a ladder and still move.
