Keep working at it and if you cannot get it you will have to go to the vet. I use a seam ripper to get them out rather than a scissors

A friend of mine adopted an older long-haired cat when her owner passed away about a year ago, and the poor thing was just full of mats. Her elderly owner obviously hadn't spent much time grooming her in the time before she passed away.

My friend tried and tried to get the mats out, but eventually resorted to using a professional groomer. This groomer charged a very reasonable rate, and even came directly to her home! She cut out the mats, and within a month or so the spots were grown back and she was a beautiful, fluffy, NORMAL-looking long-haired cat again. :)

See if you can get a professional groomer to come to your home. Not leaving his home will probably be easiest for Cyduck in this case.

That sounds very sensible, too.
