Re-Start Challenge -- Step One: Supplies.
Boy, this is some group! sophia.grace, kmsain, ttime99, rosebud17, peggyrae, nunu99, fourmcgrews. Wow!
Sophia, I think we should start today, because Step One is shopping, and that's easier to do on the weekend. (Of course, that's just my suggestion for Step One. The rest of you might very well have other ideas. Let us know what your own Step One is.)
One of the biggest problems people tend to have with this way of eating, I think, is that they just get tired of the food preparation. And tired of the food! You can only eat steak and salad for so many days before you get bored to the point of insanity. Plus, it costs a bundle, as nunu pointed out.
The other big stumbling block is convenience. For me, anyway, when I'm tired or stressed or in a hurry, I need to be able to open the fridge and grab something that's comforting and tasty and filling. And that doesn't require any preparation.
So, I think our assignment for today is to assemble an arsenal of such foods. And our further assignment is to give each other suggestions about what those foods are. Then we report back when we've laid in the supplies. I think we need to provide each other with a lot of hand-holding here, at least initially.
In case anybody is reading this who missed the original Re-Start Challenge post, it's No. 33 on this board. The idea is to help those of us who have recently fallen off the wagon to claw our way back onboard. Everybody is welcome to join us! This is going to be fun!
