Hi,
I haven't been on here for a while but my story is this. I am 38 and my ex is 45. We broke up because he found a 24 year old girlfriend. Actually we were going through some things and this girl worked with him they were getting close and he thought that she was better for him. So in June of last year they became a couple ... It felt like hell...He would not talk to me and shut me out of his life.l.......Well the last couple of weeks we have been talking and he and his girlfriend doesn't seem to be an item.........he says that they are not getting along....what does that mean ......... i am not going to give him my heart again...is there any advice anyone can give me as to how to deal with this... I still love him but i can't afford to let him break my heart again

It means he'd be happy to cheat on her with you.

I would cut off all contact with him until the two of them have broken things off completely for at least a couple of months (but can you trust him to tell the truth about this?).

Here's my advice on how to deal with it. For the next 2 weeks, have no contact with the ex. On the first week, read the first half of your post as many times as you can possibly stand to. Repeat until you have it memorized. For the second week, repeat the process with the second half of your post.

After two weeks, CALL him and calmly recite your insight. Advise him that you will contact him when YOU are ready. In my opinion, this 45 yo male is not worth your beautiful heart if he looks elsewhere at the slightest hint of a problem in a relationship.

Much luck to you, rosesrred!

If you don't want to get hurt again....then stay far away from him and cut contact.
