Anyone else get panic attacks?

With the whole breakup thing, does anyone else get panic attacks? I wish I could just be sad and mourn the relationship and move on. But when I fall asleep I have dreams about him and wake up shaking and freaking out because its over and while I know this will pass, right now I feel that I am losing my mind! The other bad thing is that I start a new job in 2 weeks and have so much free time! Yes, I got out with friends almost every night and go to the gym daily, but I am having trouble filling all the other time that I am alone.

I've read all the things about how to occupy your time, but when its late at night and you can't sleep or on Sunday morning, like it is now, what do you do? I have an Rx for panic attacks, but it doesn't seem to be working. ugh.

Anyone else deal with this? and if so, how do you reduce the panic attack symptoms?

i don't really have any advice to give, but i thought i'd let you know i'm in the same situation, so it's not just you. i've been dealing with insomnia and anxiety attacks since my boyfriend broke up with me a month ago, and i too have been trying everything to deal with it. i've been on a sleeping prescription and ive thought about trying anxiety meds but i think the only thing that can really help is time...im hoping it will get better for me and for you too! good luck.

I didn't wake up, but I did go through random bouts of craziness at odd times.

It's called a break up was REALLY my bible for a long time. Everytime I felt like losing it, I read it like a demon. It was REALLY helpful to have concrete evidence that there were crazier break ups than mine.

Welcome to the board kdaby2006,

For alone times try some of these:
Giving advice online
Clean a closet or junk drawer
Read a good book
Watch a great movie
Go for a walk
Take a bubble bath
Journal write
Write him an UNSENT letter than burn it.
